Spring Forward

Johnny L.

sometimes in the morning

when the sun shines through my blinds

i can’t make up the covers

and i can’t make up my mind

i’ve hit the snooze but

‘bout a hundred thousand times

i should be springing forward

but i’m doomed to fall behind

it’s not like i’ve got someplace

where i’m supposed to be

i’m sure i could just slip away

unnoticed easily

i wish i could explain it

but i haven’t got the time

i should be springing forward

but i’m doomed to fall behind

oh, if you’re unhappy and you know it

raise your hand

if you’re unhappy and you know

sometimes in the morning

when the sun shines though my blinds

i hide my face and dread the thought

of daylight savings time

and wish i could forget the things

i’m supposed to keep in mind

i should be springing forward

but i’m doomed to fall behind
